Recently John McCain said about his rallies “There is always the fringe element that’s in politics in America. The overwhelming majority of the people that come to my rallies are good and decent and patriotic Americans, For anybody to intimate that the overwhelming … 99 percent is anything but patriotic and good Americans is frankly unacceptable, and I won’t stand for it.”

The Dow Jones industrial average jumped more than 300 points in early trading today on top of yesterday’s historic 936-point gain. Wall Street surged again today as investors reacted enthusiastically to the U.S. government’s plans to spend $250 billion to buy stock in private banks.

Barack Obama unveiled a new economic rescue plan to the country today. He highlighted the need for more jobs, a competitive market, allowances for homeowners not to lose their homes and ways for people to invest in small businesses and start-ups.

Most of the people seem to be white working class people who have taken in the McCain Palin talking points on Obama and terrorism. Clearly the seeds of ‘hatred and division’ that John Lewis accused McCain and Palin of spreading have born fruit.
As of recently FOX News, Right Wing talk radio and the right wing blogosphere have made a concerted effort to discredit and demonize ACORN (Association of Community Organizers for Reform Now). They have accused ACORN of voter fraud and of changing voter logs and made ACORN to seem like a radical untrustworthy organization. However, McCain attended an ACORN convention just two years ago. If ACORN was such a bad organization, why did McCain attend their convention?
